Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary

Situated near the temple town of Srirangapatnam, this picturesque bird sanctuary is located on small islands in the river Kaveri. Visitors appraoch islands by boat to watch the birds. The river is inhabited by crocodiles.

Season : The best seasons are Jan-Feb and to a lesser extent June-Sept.
Birds : Open-billed stork, white ibis, spoonbill, egrets, cormorants, river terns and many more seasonal visitors
