Kalakad - Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve

Declared as a Project Tiger Reserve, the Kalakad and Mundanthurai Sanctuaries, contiguous sanctuaries situated at the foot hills of the Western Ghats, are well preserved areas.

Area : 223 sq.km.&567sq.km.respectively.
Season :.Best season September to March and October to January respectively.
Flora : Ranges from tropical wet ever-green to tropical dry deciduous with thorny scrub.
Fauna : Lion tailed macaque, nilgiri langur, bonnet macaque, common langur, nilgiri tahr, sambar, sloth bear, gaur, elephant, tiger, flying squirrel, panther, wild dog, pangolin are found here, along with a wide range of birds and reptiles.
Accommodation : Forest Rest House.
